The beloved Minions are bringing their latest adventure Minions & Monsters to the big screen this summer, and they are taking over Hong Kong Times Square! From now until 31 August 2026, the mall is transformed into a film set with the fun-filled interactive experiences. Get ready for a movie-themed adventure that turns every corner into a photo-worthy moment.
Three new characters James, Henry, and Ed, along with fresh faces Goomi and Dort, star in nine interactive movie sets across the G/F Open Piazza. Step behind the scenes, strike a pose as the main character, and snap pictures with the Minions! The fun continues on the 2/F Atrium at the “Minions Hall of Fame”, featuring a towering 3.8-metre golden Minion statue and a glamorous awards ceremony backdrop. Team Times members can also enjoy Hong Kong exclusive themed photo booth and interactive games. On designated dates, fans can meet James and Henry in person at Minions Meet & Greets!
New Characters James, Henry, Ed, Goomi and Dort Star in Nine Interactive Movie Sets
The G/F Open Piazza has been transformed into a bustling movie production base, complete with nine themed film sets and 3D character installations. From a cowboy town and a mysterious detective office to a magical fantasy world, each scene brings a different part of the Minions universe to life. Spot James, Henry, and Ed alongside Goomi and Dort in their unique costumes as you explore the sets!
Follow the red carpet from the clock tower into the film set and experience the excitement of movie-making first-hand. Core cinematographer James is perched on a classic 1920s hand-crank wooden film camera, fully focused on capturing the perfect shot.
Continuing along the red carpet into the European castle interior, Henry appears in 18th-century British royal guard attire, complete with white wig and vintage axe, immersed in a dramatic palace intrigue scene. Visitors can sit on the grand throne and play the role of king!
In the Wild West town setting filled with cacti and golden sand, James transforms into a cowboy gunslinger, wearing a brown cowboy hat and red checkered bandana, wielding a peeled banana as a revolver in an epic showdown.
Next is a moody 1920s detective office with light rain. Ed, dressed in a classic detective trench coat and fedora, is on the hunt for monster clues, inviting everyone to join the suspenseful investigation.
Further along is the film processing lab inspired by behind-the-scenes production, featuring giant chemical tanks and film reels. Ed, with his signature buzz cut, is caught napping on a film bucket.
In the Ancient Egypt tomb scene with mysterious hieroglyph-covered walls, James plays an archaeologist holding a torch in one hand and toilet paper as mummy bandages in the other for a hilarious adventure twist.
In the dark magic temple with giant ancient monster, Ed becomes a wizard, chanting spells from a black magic book and summoning glowing green flames, creating a strong fantasy atmosphere.
In a whimsical old-house setting, fans will meet the new character Goomi, a small green monster whose full name is “Gary Orkam Oliver Magma Ichabod the Deceiver”. This scene recreates the classic moment of summoning the creature from a magic book.
Pirate fans won’t want to miss the thrilling pirate ship deck scene. James, wearing a skull bandana and eyepatch, stands at the ship’s wheel steering through stormy seas and giant sea monsters.
On the other side, a sci-fi exhibition hall scene introduces the new mechanical alien character Dort. Wearing heavy silver armour and holding a blue flag with the base logo, Dort invites everyone to join the futuristic exhibition.
Star-Studded Celebration at Minions Hall of Fame 3.8-Metre Giant Golden Minion Statue on 2/F
After exploring the outdoor sets, take the escalator up to the sparkling “Minions Hall of Fame” on the 2/F Atrium. James, Henry and Ed are dressed to impress for the awards ceremony atmosphere!
Walk the red carpet on the 2/F to the highlight, the magnificent 3.8-metre golden Minion statue of James, posed like an Oscar trophy holding a torch.
There are also two different themed double-sided photo zones: one magical and one pirate-inspired, offering completely different backdrops for photos.
In the luxurious mansion garden scene, Ed rocks a sky-blue velvet robe with a thick dark blue fur collar and a chunky gold chain with a “RICH” pendant, flaunting a stack of banknotes in true 1920s nouveau riche style.
