EVISU and F-LAGSTUF-F Teams Up to Launch a Streetwear Collection

Japanese high-end streetwear brands EVISU and F-LAGSTUF-F have jointly launched a collaborative series, featuring renowned Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba as the lead in their advertising campaign. The campaign showcases his unique personal style and Japanese cultural elements.

This collection takes inspiration from Edo-period “SHUNGA”, blending traditional Japanese erotic art with a modern street style through a Neo Tokyo lens. Classic motifs are reimagined in contemporary designs, creating a bold mix of heritage and forward – thinky fashion.

Blending traditional Japanese symbolism with modern aesthetics, the design incorporates auspicious icons such as Ebisu-sama and a beckoning cat holding a koban coin. The inclusion of both brands’ logos on the kimono-style garments further strengthens the graphic identity of this collaboration.

“Shunga” refers to a genre of Japanese erotic art, typically woodblock prints, that flourished during the Edo period. These artworks, known for their explicit depictions of intimacy, were widely appreciated as a form of entertainment. Often infused with humor and satire, Shunga blends erotic imagery with refined artistry. While considered an early form of adult media, Shunga also reflects the cultural and social landscape of its time. Today, it is studied for its artistic and historical significance, offering valuable insights into Edo-era Japan.
