Meiriki Japan x Hong Chi Association Presents "Cool & Warm Resonance" Art Exhibition
Meiriki Japan x Hong Chi Association Presents

Art possesses a warmth that transcends language, binding different sectors of society together. Guided by a long-standing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development, Meiriki Japan hosted a sharing session today at its Times Square Concept Store in Causeway Bay to present the “Cool & Warm Resonance” Art Exhibition.

The exhibition showcases four art pieces previously acquired by Meiriki Japan. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Edward Yau Tang-wah, GBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Chi Association; Ms. Ophelia Lin, Executive Director of Meiriki Japan.; and the talented Hong Chi Association student artists themselves.

As a member of the Social Welfare Department’s Advisory Committee on Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities, Ms. Ophelia Lin has been a tireless advocate for the social inclusion and rights of individuals with different abilities. Through this initiative, Meiriki Japan aims to move beyond traditional, one-way donations by offering a tangible commercial platform to showcase these artists’ talents. By using art as a bridge, the initiative seeks to create opportunities for individuals of all abilities to demonstrate their societal value, foster deeper social inclusion, and support their future independence.

Appreciating Diverse Talents Through Art

Among the four pieces showcased in the “Cool & Warm • Resonance” exhibition, three are heartfelt paintings created by Hong Chi Association students. During the event, guests and student artists gathered to appreciate the intricate details and creative concepts behind each work. The students also participated in media interviews, sharing their creative inspiration and the immense joy and sense of accomplishment they felt upon completing their pieces. Parents and social workers in attendance witnessed firsthand how public recognition builds self-confidence, helping these students break through personal barriers and express thoughts through art that they might otherwise struggle to put into words.

Also on display is “Seal Seal Seal the soldier,” a woodcut print by artist Michelle Fung. Featuring seal soldiers rendered in vibrant neon colors, the piece transforms severe issues of climate change and marine pollution into a striking visual narrative, prompting the public to reflect on the ongoing ecological crisis.

Advancing Social-Business Integration for Sustainable Win-Win Outcomes

During her media interview, Ms. Ophelia Lin shared the vision behind acquiring these artworks and organizing the exhibition. She emphasized that Meiriki Japan aims to elevate the concept of “cross-sector inclusion” by shifting away from conventional philanthropic models toward mutually beneficial, sustainable partnerships. Through this exhibition at the Times Square Concept Store, the brand hopes that every visiting customer will connect with these vibrant artworks and take home a warm message of “resonance.”

Mr. Edward Yau, Chairman of Hong Chi Association, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, noting that art serves as an invisible bridge connecting Hong Chi students with the wider public. He expressed hope for even deeper collaborations between the business sector and social welfare organizations in the future, allowing society to recognize and appreciate the diverse talents and contributions of these individuals.

Spreading Positive Energy and Creating Warm Resonance

The “Cool & Warm Resonance” sharing event concluded on a warm and inspiring note. Meiriki Japan remains dedicated to its founding mission, continuously injecting vibrant, positive energy into the community through diverse initiatives.

The exhibition is currently open to the public free of charge at the Meiriki Japan Concept Store (Shop 913, 9/F, Times Square, Causeway Bay) until September 30, 2026.
